Community exercise class at Chalmers Presbyterian Church ( on Pondmills road) every Wednesday from 1.30 to 2.30. for the past 5 years. It is designed for physical maintenance. It is a moderate intensity walking and sitting class using many modalities; weights, bands , foam. tubes, etc. It encompasses stretching, strength, aerobics, cardio, balance, endurance. It is geared for a seniors population male and female with varied abilities and conditions. Everyone is welcome to come for a free guest pass to one class, to see if it is right for them. The regular charge is $3.00 per class. No membership or yearly fees required. Just drop in anytime.

Celebration will take place on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Covent Garden Market in central London, from 1-4 p.m.

Event highlights:

Music and entertainment, face painting, balloons
Skating at the Rotary Rink
Remarks from volunteers, Intact Insurance and United Way representatives
Announcement of 2009 Campaign total
Introduction of the new Campaign Chair

Hot chocolate, coffee and treats will be served throughout the afternoon.

Free bussing will be provided to and from the event, so everyone can join in on the fun.

Pick up locations include:

Crouch Neighbourhood Resource Centre, 550 Hamilton Road
Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre, 150 King Edward Avenue
South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre, 1119 Jalna Boulevard
Beacock Library, 1280 Huron St. Organizer - LUSO Community Services *

Busses will leave each location at 1p.m.and

will leave the Covent Garden Market at 4p.m. to return to the pick up location.

When: Monday February 22nd @ 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Who: Anyone interested in stroke and stroke prevention

A full day of information and workshops for those wanting information on stroke screening, risks, or stroke rehabilitation. A Social Worker, Registered Nurse, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and Physiotherapist will all be on hand to answer your questions

9:00 – 11:00.: Information session

11:00 – 11:45: Presentation on Blood pressure and Stroke

12:30 – 1:00 Opportunities for integration and recreation

1:00 – 1:45 Exercise for stroke survivors

2:00 – 300 Workshop on meditation and relaxation
